Daniel Morel has been taking pictures for 30 years, the last 20 in his native Haiti. Morel was the Associated Press resident photojournalist for 14 years, during which time he received a Citation for Excellence from the Overseas Press Club of America and an AP Award of Excellence. Work by Morel - who later freelanced for Reuters, and many other publications - has appeared in hundreds of newpapers and magazines throughout the world and in shows in New York and New Orleans, USA, Martinique, the Dominican Republic and Spain. Morel was co-recipient of the 2004 Sam Chavkin Prize for Integrity in Latin American Journalism. Morel is currently freelancing and working on a book project.
